in my experience, ScopeFIR creates a simple FIR filter. If you have a FIR filter in mind, which one does ScopeFIR allow you to create? I have seen ScopeFIR create filters with a bandwidth of about 4,000Hz and down to -110dB. So if that’s what you’re wanting, ScopeFIR will give you that in a fraction of the size.

I’ve been using ScopeFIR for a while and it’s working quite well. The main drawback for me is the lack of textual description of the filter or coefficient sizes which make it hard to understand what the numbers actually represent. Also, the FEPS are not the usual maximum sampling frequency / sampling rate used for software FIR filters.
