The inptools command implements the following command-line tools:

Effort-Based Decision Support System (EBSS) Analyzer
The Effort-Based Decision Support System (EBSS) Analyzer takes as input an effort-based ESF (eESF) file and calculates the corresponding success and failure probabilities, while the most likely flow and volume are also calculated. The EBSS Analyzer can be used to calculate counter-flood success and failure probabilities that are especially important for engineering designs with floodplains as they may prevent floodplain-normalization of the predicted water flow. A solution for different values of the ratio of the river flood-capacity/retention capacity or flood-frequency can be specified by the parameters. The Analyzer therefore allows the user to study the effects of various settings.

The EBSS Analyzer runs an ad-hoc big raster data processing chain from the eESF file to the ESF (EPANET) INP file. This can be achieved by an implementation of the command line tool in the ESF-specific Inptools package.

The ESF-specific Inptools package includes EBSS Analyzer as a command line tool or by issuing it via the ESF-specific inptools command line program. In addition to the user interface it allows the EBSS Analyzer to run using a proscribed set of parameters (see below).

It is a must-use tool during flooding and flooding recession operation of the water distribution system (WDS). The EBSS Analyzer is included in the ESF-specific command line programs which are defined in the command line interface.
